The UAE has extended its condolences and support to the Philippines following a powerful earthquake that struck the country on Tuesday.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep sympathy to the families of the victims, and to the government and people of the Philippines.
It also wished a swift recovery to those injured in the disaster.
The shallow 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck in waters off the central holiday island of Cebu late on Tuesday, killing at least 69 people.
