A new law which ensures that women receive equal pay as men in the UAE's private sector will come into effect on Friday, September 25.
It was issued by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan last month after amending some provisions of an earlier federal law.
As per the latest decree, "Female employees shall receive wages similar to that of men if they perform the same work or another of equal value."
The initiative falls in line with the UAE's efforts to promote gender equality and enhance the participation of women in the private sector workforce.
Congratulations to all the women working in the UAE private sector. This step will undoubtedly boost the social inclusivity of women, support their role in national development, and advance the UAE’s status on the world’s Gender Equality Index.
