His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, attended the opening of the World Safety Summit 2026, organised by Dubai Civil Defence.
The event brings together participants from 64 countries and 31 leading international fire and safety institutions.
Sheikh Mansoor reviewed the One Billion Readiness Initiative, launched in Dubai a year ago, which has now reached 500 million people in 64 cities through 68 multilingual awareness campaigns.
The initiative aims to enhance fire prevention, speed up emergency response and protect lives and property.
He also honoured the recipients of the Global Impact Award for Community Safety, including the International Association of Fire and Rescue Services, Fire Aid, and the National Fire Protection Association.
Sheikh Mansoor reaffirmed Dubai’s commitment to advancing global safety and strengthening community preparedness.
Dubai Civil Defence Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi said the summit reflects the emirate’s dedication to global partnerships and innovation.
He described the One Billion Readiness Initiative as a pioneering model that elevates international safety culture and community readiness.
Participants praised Dubai’s leadership in delivering impactful safety initiatives and setting global benchmarks for best practice.
