Abu Dhabi is set to host the first edition of the Euroleague Basketball SuperCup at Etihad Arena on Yas Island from September 18-19.
Launched by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Euroleague Basketball, the competition will officially open the European club basketball season.
The first edition will bring together four elite clubs, including reigning EuroLeague champion Olympiacos Piraeus, 2025 EuroLeague champion Fenerbahce Tarfin Istanbul, 2026 finalist Real Madrid, and UAE representatives Dubai Basketball.
Olympiacos Piraeus is set to face Fenerbahce Tarfin Istanbul on Friday, September 18, at 6pm followed by Dubai Basketball taking on Real Madrid at 9 pm GST.
The tournament will conclude on September 19 with the third-place game at 6 pm followed by the first-ever Euroleague Basketball SuperCup Final at 9 pm.
Building on the success of the 2025 EuroLeague Final Four in Abu Dhabi, the new SuperCup represents the next chapter in the long-term partnership between Euroleague Basketball and DCT Abu Dhabi.
Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, Director General for Tourism at the DCT Abu Dhabi, says the competition is "another milestone in Abu Dhabi's long-term partnership with Euroleague Basketball and reflects our shared ambition to grow the game while creating world-class experiences for fans".
