Mahendra Singh Dhoni has stepped down as the captain of the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

He has decided to hand over the team's leadership to Ravindra Jadeja, who has been an integral part of CSK since 2012.

Jadeja will only be the third player to lead the side.

An official statement from CSK said, "Dhoni will continue to represent Chennai Super Kings this season and beyond."

The latest announcement comes just two days before CSK open their IPL 2022 campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai.
