Ex-Newcastle star Papiss Cissé signs for UAE side

Former Newcastle striker Papiss Cissé has signed for the UAE's Al Qabila FC. The club confirmed the deal on Instagram with the forward posing with the number 18 shirt.

Confirming the signing the club said: "With an incredible career that includes scoring 37 Premier League goals for Newcastle United, and representing Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup, Cissé’s experience and goal-scoring ability will help Al Qabila FC push for promotion in our first ever season.

In the presence of Club President His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Founder Soheil Var, we are thrilled to add a caliber of this player to our team and to UAE football.

Welcome to The Tribe, Cissé."

 The Dubai club was formed in 2024 and currently plays in the UAE Third Division League.
