FIFA cancels Arab Cup third-place match

Adverse weather conditions forced the cancellation of the FIFA Arab Cup third place playoff between the UAE and Saudi Arabia in Doha on Thursday, with both teams sharing the title.

FIFA said this action was taken by the referee and match officials to ensure the safety of all the players, fans, and staff at the Khalifa International Stadium.

The second half was about to get underway when heavy rain made it impossible to resume play. The first half of the match had ended goalless.

Following the cancellation, FIFA announced that the UAE and Saudi Arabia teams will share third place in the Arab Cup 2025.
