IPL cricket: Kings XI defeat Rajasthan Royals

Kings XI Punjab have moved up to fourth in the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table after beating Rajasthan Royals by 12 runs in Chandigarh.

The hosts posted a challenging total of 182-6 and then restricted their opponents to 170 for 7.

All-rounder R. Ashwin scored 17 off just 4 balls and claimed two crucial wickets to help set up the win.

The Kings XI innings was built around opener KL Rahul's patient 52 (47 balls) and attacking cameos by Chris Gayle (30), Mayank Agarwal (26), and David Miller (40).

Rahul Tripathi (50) top-scored for the Royals, while Stuart Binny was unbeaten on 33 (11 balls).
