Rafael Nadal has defeated Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka to put Spain into the ATP Cup quarter-finals in Australia.
He won 7-6 (7-4) 6-4) in a match that lasted two hours and seven minutes.
Spain finished top of Group B with Roberto Bautista Agut downing Go Soeda 6-2, 6-4.
