Over USD 5.7 million (nearly AED 21 million) of prize money is at stake when the world’s best players compete over the next two weeks at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

It’s a major event outside the Grand Slams and starts with the women’s tournament on Sunday.

Naomi Osaka and Petra Kvitova spearhead nine of the world’s top-10 players at the event

They are two of the seven grand slam champions in the field.

Kvitova will be hoping to put a heartbreaking Australian Open final loss to Osaka behind her when the pair step on court.

She told ARN News that the loss to Osaka had taken some time to process.
