Portugal inch closer to securing Euro 2020 spot

CARLOS COSTA / AFP

Portugal are getting closer to securing their place in Euro 2020.

They recorded a convincing 3-0 win against Luxembourg on Friday night in Lisbon to go four points clear of Serbia in Group B.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 65th minute to move one goal away from his 700th career goal.

Elsewhere England lost their first qualifier in 10 years as they went down 2-1 to Czech Republic.

The result means that Gareth Southgate's side must now wait to confirm their place in Euro 2020.

Meanwhile, France stay second in Group H after beating Iceland 1-0 thanks to a goal from Olivier Giroud.
