England are top of the Six Nations table, after beating reigning champions, Ireland, 21-10. In an error-strewn game, a try from Conor Murray gave the visitors a narrow lead early in the second period, but two tries in five minutes from Anthony Watson and Mike Brown put England back in control. They then held on as Ireland poured forward towards the end, to secure a win in Eddie Jones' first match at Twickenham since taking over as head coach. Elsewhere, Scotland got their first win in this year's competition, beating Italy 36-20 in Rome. John Barclay, John Hardie and Tommy Seymour went over the line for the Scots, with Greig Laidlaw's composed kicking getting three conversions and five penalties.
