UAE claim 17 medals at IWAS

The UAE have recorded a best ever finish at the 2015 International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation World Games in Sochi with 17 medals. The country finished ninth overall, securing three golds, all from the athletics programme. Hosts Russia were too good for the 34-nation field, winning 121 gold, as China on 25 gold and Poland with 10 gold ended up in second and third spots overall. Six disciplines were contested in the week long event, where over 600 participants took part in the Russian resort town and Winter Olympics destination.
