His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has discussed the drone strike near the Barakah nuclear power plant with several Arab foreign ministers during a series of phone calls on Sunday.

The talks focused on the attack on an electricity generator outside the plant’s inner perimeter in Al Dhafra after a drone entered UAE airspace from the western border direction.

There were no injuries and no impact on radiation safety levels.

Sheikh Abdullah held discussions with the foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Morocco, Egypt and Bahrain.

During the calls, the ministers strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law and the UN Charter.

They also reaffirmed the UAE’s right to respond in order to protect its sovereignty, national security and territorial integrity.

Sheikh Abdullah thanked the countries for their support and solidarity with the UAE, while also confirming the safety of residents and visitors across the country.

The discussions also addressed wider regional security concerns and efforts to strengthen international cooperation aimed at supporting stability and peace.
