A total of 17 tanks were seized for the illegal disposal of harmful materials during the first half of the year, Dubai Police announced on Friday, adding that 18 suspects were detained.
The cases were identified as part of joint efforts with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Environment, and Climate Change Authority.
Necessary legal measures were taken against the suspects, police added.
The authority stressed that harmful materials such as sewage and petrochemical waste must only be disposed of at designated locations and in accordance with approved procedures.
It urged businesses and individuals operating in the sector to comply with approved regulations and disposal procedures.
