Free medication will soon be provided to low-income cancer patients in the UAE.
It comes following a new agreement between the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and pharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca.
The initiative will benefit those battling bladder and lung cancer as well as patients with lymphoma and acute asthma.
Commenting on the agreement, Leon Wang, Executive VP at International AstraZeneca said: "This initiative, which includes new and innovative treatment for some types of cancer and respiratory diseases, would help patients, who are under limited medical insurance."
Dr. Ruqaya Al Bastaki, Director of MoHAP’s Drug Department said that the initiative would help enhance community responsibility values for companies.
