Dubai Electricity and Water Authority say that the technical notification has saved more than AED 17 million in water leakage.
The authority also announced that customer happiness with the smart service had reached 91 per cent since its launch in July 2019.
The Smart Response Service gives customers ways to self-diagnose any interruptions, get a faster response to complaints, as well as send high-water usage alerts to discover possible leaks in the connection.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, said, "DEWA is committed to launching innovative initiatives to provide value-added services to our customers that make their lives easier and contribute to transforming Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world. This supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to improve government services to achieve society’s happiness, and the Dubai Plan 2021, to make Dubai the preferred place to live, work, and visit."
