A teenage girl in Dubai who had to have a part of her jaw removed due to an aggressive tumour has had it replaced with a 3D printed one.
The DHA’s Primary Healthcare Centre and Rashid Hospital worked with a healthcare startup to save the 17-year-old’s face.
The 3D printing technology has been used in the past to design and build a prosthetic leg and remove a cancerous from a patient’s kidney.
Health authorities in the city are planning to increase the use of 3D printing in medical care.
