Dubai-Jakarta flights resume after Indonesia airport reopens

Emirates Airline has resumed flights between Dubai and Jakarta after the reopening of Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (CGK) on Tuesday, which had been closed since Sunday due to volcanic ash at Mount Anak ⁠Krakatau.

In a statement sent to ARN News, an Emirates spokesperson said their operations to Jakarta are "back on track".

The airline representative added that previously cancelled flights on Tuesday are either resuming as scheduled or reinstated, with an additional flight added to accommodate the situation.

The two inbound flights - EK357, EK359 - which had been previously cancelled, will continue to operate, with EK357 reinstated and EK359 resuming as scheduled, the spokesperson noted. 

Meanwhile, EK358 will remain in operation, with an additional flight added - EK 8359 - to accommodate the situation. 

Travellers have been advised to check their flight status regularly, with those impacted by the cancellations encouraged to rebook their trip.

Several flights had been previously cancelled in the past few days due to Indonesia's Mount Anak ⁠Krakatau's eruption. 

The natural disaster had prompted eight ⁠airports to shut down operations for safety reasons, with more than 340,000 travellers impacted, and more than 2,900 flights either delayed, diverted or cancelled.
