A AED 67 million extension of Academic City Road has been endorsed by the Roads and Transport Authority. The project comprises two parts: the extension of Hessa Street, and the linking of Academic City Road and Emirates Road. The Director General, and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, Mattar Al Tayer, says the project is part of plans to ease traffic flow across Dubai. According to national news agency WAM, the project is set for completion in the second quarter of 2016.
