International experts have convened in Dubai to discuss the future of mass public-participation events in an increasingly digital age. The Host Cities Summit is focusing on aspects related to funding and public engagement that can be applied to different event types, budgets and geographic locations. These discussions also reflect the UAE’s own ambitions as it gears up for the World Expo in 2020. Manal Al Bayat, Vice President of Engagement for Expo 2020 Dubai says the organizing committee is reaching out to different sections of the community, ahead of the mega event.
