Visitors to Abu Dhabi, who have been vaccinated outside the UAE, can now register themselves on the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) app for a green status on the Al Hosn app.
That's according to the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee, which issued a step-by-step guide on how travellers can get their international vaccination certificates verified.
It comes as the UAE capital restricts entry into a host of public venues to only the vaccinated from August 20.
Here are the steps to follow:
- Before departure, visitors need to input details under ‘Register Arrivals’ on the ICA app or the website, and upload the international vaccination certificate.
- Visitors will then receive an SMS including a link to download Al Hosn app.
- On arrival into Abu Dhabi, visitors will receive a Unified Identification Number (UID) either at the airport or via ICA.
- They are then required to register on the Al Hosn app, using the UID and phone number that was used for ICA registration or when taking a PCR test.
- A one-time password completes the process and enables an active Al Hosn app status which can be used to access public spaces in the emirate.
