His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has said that the UAE seeks to strengthen efforts to combat Malaria.
The UAE is "committed in the fight to end Malaria through global partnerships and will continue to work with the global community to lead on innovative and equity-driven programmes to save millions more lives," Sheikh Mohamed wrote on Twitter.
His words come as the world marks Malaria Day on April 25.
"Diseases and epidemics are the most serious challenge facing societies, and it is important to build effective and sustainable global strategies to deal with them," he added.
Globally, 3.3 billion people in 106 countries are at risk of malaria.
