New Zealand has thanked the UAE for helping evacuate its citizens from Afghanistan.
Peeni Henare, Minister of Defence of New Zealand, commended the UAE's efforts during a phone call with Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs.
The move, he said, "underscores the deep-rooted, friendly ties between the two countries."
Meanwhile, Al Bowardi emphasised the UAE's commitment to assisting its allies in efforts to ensure security and stability.
The two ministers discussed ways to strengthen defence cooperation between their nations, and also touched on regional issues of common interest.
