Food delivery riders who show any flu-like symptoms must be taken off duty temporarily, until they fully recover.
That's according to the latest guidelines issued by the Sharjah City Municipality, which urged delivery firms to ensure riders have access to healthcare centres if they've been in contact with a COVID-19 infected person.
All riders, they reiterated, must wear facemasks and gloves, and change them after every delivery.
They must also maintain safe distance while delivering the food, with the containers used for transportation thoroughly sanitised and cleaned.
These are part of efforts by the authority to safeguard public health, and stop the spread of COVID-19.
