The first session of the 17th legislative chapter of the Federal National Council (FNC) has been officially inaugurated.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai got proceedings underway in the presence of Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, and Sheikhs.
The first session will see the appointment of the Council’s oldest member as its temporary Chair, until a speaker is elected.
Members of the council will also be sworn in on Thursday.
