UAE air defences intercept 14 missiles, 19 drones on Monday

UAE air defences successfully intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles and 19 drones launched from Iran on Monday, Ministry of Defence confirmed.

Since the start of Iran's attacks on February 28, the UAE has intercepted 519 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles and 2,210 drones.

The attacks have resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces and a Moroccan contractor working for the military, as well as 10 civilians, and have also wounded 221, with injuries ranging from minor to severe.

The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed it remains fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats and will firmly confront anything that aims to undermine the security of the country, in a manner that ensures the protection of its sovereignty, security and stability, and safeguards its interests and national capabilities.
