Authorities are urging the public to remain in a safe location as UAE air defence systems respond to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence said that the sounds heard in some areas are of interception operations.
It has also warned people not to approach, touch or photograph any debris that may have fallen following interceptions.
