The UAE is set to launch a Gender Balance Strategy that is inspired by the country's plans to enhance global competitiveness in various fields over the next 50 years.
Its objectives will be to reduce the gender gap across all government sectors, achieve gender balance in decision-making positions, as well as promote the UAE’s status as a benchmark for gender balance legislation.
Established in 2015, the Council is a federal entity responsible for developing and implementing the gender balance agenda in the United Arab Emirates.
Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, noted it has succeeded in propelling the UAE to one of the world's top 25 countries for gender balance on the United Nations Human Development Index.
