Inspections carried out between May 20 and October 1, found precautionary measures had been breached in several residential labour areas.
Brigadier Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director-General of Central Operations in the Sharjah Police, and Chairman of the Executive Committee for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management in the emirate, said the community must cooperate with the authorities.
Field teams found 6,959 violations during visits to industrial areas.
The breaches include the failure to wear masks and abide by social distancing rules.
Brigadier General Naour said 170,089 health and safety awareness leaflets have been distributed by the police to help prevent the spread of the virus.
He added that any pandemic violations should be reported promptly.
