Dubai’s residents have helped catch nearly 4,000 road rule breakers with the Dubai Police App. Since the introduction of the service 10 months ago, which encourages residents to send videos or photos of bad drivers to the police, 3,748 fines have been issued. Authorities behind the “We Are All Police” campaign say they have welcomed the public’s participation and they want even more. However, they do note that photos are not allowed to be taken if a driver or passenger is in the violating car so the majority of fines have been issued to illegally parked vehicles. Residents have also been warned to not capture violations while they are driving.
