Travelling between Dubai and Sharjah is set to get a lot easier, thanks to an upgraded traffic corridor that opens on Wednesday.
The Tripoli Street Improvement Project provides a quick link between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed and Emirates Roads.
It also makes access easier to Al Warqaa and Mirdif districts.
According to Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the project included the construction of two underpasses, a three-lane bridge to serve the traffic inbound from Tripoli Street to Emirates Road in the direction of Sharjah, as well as improvement works to various roundabouts and intersections.
The upgraded Tripoli Street is a 12 km corridor that will channel about 2,000 vehicles every hour during peak time from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road to Emirates Road.
