A quad biker has been arrested in Dubai for performing stunts on a main road and endangering the lives of other road users.
The police were quick to respond after a video of the man's antics popped up online.
They said the 21-year-old GCC national, who does not hold a licence, performed dangerous stunts and fled the scene after falling off his vehicle.
He has been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
Colonel Rashid Mohammed Saleh Al Shehhi, Acting Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, said the young man's arrest sends a clear message that Dubai Police does not tolerate actions that threaten the safety of road users and community members.
"A number of traffic tickets have been issued against the reckless man, including driving the vehicle in a way that endangers the motorist's life and the lives of others, riding an unlicensed quad bike, driving without a valid driver's licence, and fleeing the scene of the accident," explained Al Shehhi.
He also called on the public to report reckless driving and other violations through the Dubai Police app or via the non-emergency hotline 901.
