During a session at the Arab League Council, the United Arab Emirates has called for intensified joint efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Ambassador of the UAE to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Her Excellency Maryam Al Kaabi, highlighted the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, urging for immediate collective action.
Ambassador Al Kaabi emphasised the urgency of the situation, stating, Her Excellency said: “In the face of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli attacks resulting in a catastrophic humanitarian situation that is extremely sensitive and dangerous, threatening the lives of the entire population of the Strip, the UAE stresses the necessity of intensifying collective action and joint efforts, to put an end to the ongoing machine of destruction, and achieve a cessation of Immediate firing, and adherence to the relevant legal decisions, in order to preserve the lives of civilians and provide them with the necessary humanitarian and relief assistance in an urgent, safe, sustainable and unhindered manner, and through all possible methods.”
The UAE has actively contributed to diplomatic negotiations and humanitarian initiatives, including securing critical United Nations Security Council resolutions aimed at enhancing the delivery of humanitarian aid.
The UAE has also has dispatched over 26,000 tonnes of emergency supplies to Gaza, alongside launching significant projects like the construction of field hospitals to provide medical care to thousands.
