Several motorists in Dubai have run into trouble for performing stunts on public roads during rainy weather conditions.
They were arrested shortly after their videos went viral on social media platforms.
Dubai Police referred the drivers to the Public Prosecution for further legal action, and their vehicles have been impounded.
The authority has warned of tough action against motorists who drive recklessly and endanger the lives of other road users.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic said that the impounded vehicles were found to have committed multiple violations, including performing stunts, causing chaos, endangering the lives of other road users, and illegally modifying vehicles resulting in excessive noise pollution.
He added that the duration of vehicle impoundment varies based on the nature of the violation and the monetary fines imposed under the Federal Traffic Law.
