Dubai Police are rolling out a campaign aimed at curbing unnecessary honking.
After a successful pilot in the Naif area, the initiative is being expanded citywide under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.
Constant, excessive honking disrupts neighbourhoods, disturbs residents and impacts overall quality of life.
As per the Federal Traffic Law, needless honking can result in a AED 400 fine and four black points, but authorities stress the campaign is not about penalties, it's about awareness.
First Lieutenant Nouf Khaled Ahli, from the Dubai Police General Department of Police Stations, shared the details with ARN News.
