Tourists arriving in Dubai can get their COVID-19 tests done for free.
That’s according to Hoor Al Khaja, Acting Associate Vice President, International Operations at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), who explained the extensive safety measures that have been put in place to ensure passenger safety as the world fights to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Speaking on Dubai Eye on One, she said tourists must "present a COVID-19 negative certificate that’s valid for at least 96 hours. Otherwise, they undergo a PCR Test at Dubai Airports, which is being conducted for free."
Al Khaja added that test results can take anywhere between 6 to 24 hours.
She also explained how tourists, who test negative, will not need to undergo quarantine.
All travellers must download the COVID-19 DXB app, fill a ‘health declaration form’ and have a valid health cover.
If a tourist tests positive, they must self-isolate at an institutional facility, as outlined by the government, for 14 days at their own expense.
