A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has been named the winner of the UAE's 'Great Arab Minds Award' in the field of engineering and technology.
Lebanese-born Fadel Adib, Associate Professor at MIT, has been honoured for his contributions to wireless sensing technologies.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced Adib as the winner on the platform X.
Sheikh Mohammed said Adib has published over 80 research papers and holds patents in engineering and technology.
"His research and inventions have significantly expanded the possibilities of wireless sensing technologies, leading to advancements in various areas, including through-wall vision and sensing, enabling the detection of objects and vibrations behind walls, under rubble and numerous other applications," His Highness added.
